DIRECTORS MEETING
Meeting of the Directors of the Lynchburg Glass Corporation was held in the office of the Plant, Tuesday, April 8th [1924] at 11 A. M. with the following present:
N. D. Eller
J. William Gayner
D. H. Dillard
J. D. Owen
C. M. Guggenheimer
John Victor
R. C. Watts
W. H. Loyd
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The President discussed present business conditions fully and stated that R. C. Coleman had been put on the road as salesman. He stated that business generally in the Insulator line was dull and very slow for this season in getting into its stride. He told the Board that he was investigating the soft drink bottle business and trying to obtain orders enough to start the manufacture of this ware, as the plant was shut down and only keeping enough men to block the furnace with producer gas. He said he hoped business would justify starting production again after a two weeks period.
The question of fire insurance and fire protection came up and the President made a statement of the totals of the Insurance policies carried and described in detail the fire protection and equipment at the present time. After thorough discussion, this was considered sufficient by the Board.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
